Sarah Mirza’s practice focuses on building valuable patent portfolios for companies in the high tech industry. Her clients range from early stage start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. Sarah’s strong technical background, stemming from her academic training at MIT and practical experience as a software engineer, combined with her extensive legal experience uniquely position her to address client needs efficiently and effectively, and handle even the most complex technical and legal problems. In particular, Sarah’s technical specialties in areas related to computer science, including AI, VR, machine learning, complex system architectures, network and computer security, and data analytics, enable her to delve deeply into a client’s technologies and develop thoughtful and customized patent strategies accordingly.
Sarah’s practice extends to assisting clients in enforcing their patent and other IP assets, and developing and executing defensive strategies with respect to third-party patent assets. To this end, Sarah routinely performs invalidity and infringement analyses and has been involved in several post grant proceedings at the USPTO.
Prior to joining Artegis, Sarah was an associate at Fenwick & West, LLP and a technical advisor at Patterson & Sheridan, LLP. Sarah graduated at the top of her class from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2015.
